About

Louise McDonnell is recognised as one of Ireland’s leading social media experts.

She is a bestselling author on Amazon having published two books; Facebook Marketing, The Essential Guide and 2021 Social Media Planner & Guide.  

Louise has trained more than 20,000 people over the last ten years, including 12,000 online students in the last 12 months.

Louise works with many Irish Government Agencies including Failte Ireland, Enterprise Ireland, Mayo North East and Local Enterprise Offices in Mayo, Roscommon, Sligo, Kildare, Carlow, Wexford, Leitrim, and Donegal.  For over 10 years Louise has been training and mentoring SMEs.  She knows the issues they face and the supports they need.

Experience

Louise has over twenty years of practical sales and marketing experience having worked with a wide range of businesses across multiple industry sectors. 

Before establishing her social media marketing company, 2Market in 2008, Louise worked in several sales and marketing roles in Dublin and Mayo over a twelve-year period.  During that time, she assisted a national franchise build their brand, was the CEO of the local branch of a national not-for-profit organisation and set up the marketing department for one of Ireland’s earliest e-business organisations.  

In the past, Louise wrote a newspaper column (the Chamber Corner in the Western People which ran for seven years), has been interviewed on a regular basis on local radio and has represented clients on National TV and Radio.  

Derek Hannick

About

Derek is a self-motivated, resourceful and focused professional with several years’ management & training experience in the retail, insurance and IT sectors.

He has completed a Master of Science in Marketing Practice, Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Post Grad Diploma in Project Management (Civil Eng.)

He successfully completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management (Lean SCM Black Belt) in 2015/2016 achieving Grade 1 2nd class honours.

Derek has significant change management expertise and experience dealing with Local Authorities & Enterprise Ireland. He has also worked with blue chip companies such as Apple, Musgrave Group, Laya Healthcare, IDA/Enterprise Ireland and Local Enterprise Offices.

Experience

Derek recently rolled out a Lean Business Programme for Local Enterprise Office Carlow & Wexford which commenced in May 2018 and is a Lean Mentor for LEO Wexford, Waterford, Cork City and Laois for 2021. Derek
was also a mentor for Mayo LEO for 2020 and provided valuable guidance to over 60 clients under the Business Continuity Voucher Scheme and standard mentoring programme.


From 2010 – 2015 Derek successfully developed and rolled out a cost & sustainability strategy for 800 small businesses in the food retail sector for the Musgrave Group. The strategy achieved significant results including a reduction in fit out costs of 39% and reduction in energy consumption of 30% for the independent SME retailers with combined savings of €27m over 6 years. The sustainability road map achieves over €4m pa annual savings in energy costs and won a National Award with SEAI. He is hands on in his approach with Rural Business placing great emphasis on continuous improvement training to instigate positive change for the retail owners and managers and teaching them how to compete
against their multinational competitors.

Breda Colgan

About

Breda started her career as a nurse. Breda trained in the UK and observing the necessity for and the focus on prevention before cure, led Breda to work as an Occupational Health Safety & Environmental Management Consultant for over 18 years. 

During this time Breda has acquired a wide range of technical and management skills. Breda’s technical skills extend to assisting her clients with:

  • Developing workplace health and safety strategies
  •  Programmes to transform culture,
  •  Safety management systems using a continuous improvement frameworks
  • Contractor management
  • Designing and facilitating workshops to build employee capability in risk assessment.

Breda has provided professional advice to a broad range of industry sector’s including Healthcare, Construction, Demolition, Waste & Recycling, Quarrying, Retail, Manufacturing, Agriculture, Transport & Event Management. 

As a Director of Salutem Advisory & Training Ltd, Breda is passionate about creating trusted advisor relationships with clients and delivering real solutions that make a positive impact and difference to businesses. 

This is achieved through establishing long term relationships with her clients as well as developing a strong understanding of the clients’ operational needs and challenges. 

Breda works closely with senior leadership teams in industry to help them create internal capability and resilience around their safety management system thus ensuring it is well integrated into the business processes.
